Junko was born in Melbourne, Australia. When she was 7, she moved with her family to Tokyo, Japan. They migrated to Australia when she was 18. Junko graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts. Later she studied for two years at the Julian Ashton Art School, Sydney, and for another two with Bela Ivani, also in Sydney. Since then she has exhibited in solo and group shows and entered and won a number of competitions and art prizes. She had a residency at Paris through Defiance Gallery in 2010 and her most recent show was a group show at Defiance Gallery in June 2011.
